Ambient Artifacts

Subtle pulsing visuals with tactile control: model-airplane USB controller + adjustable palettes

Experience

Ambient Artifacts is a slow-breathing, generative visual that feels alive without demanding attention. Soft noise fields drift and pulse on a gentle arc; color shifts are subtle and room-aware, so it reads as an elegant layer for dinners, lounges, and resets between sets. Guests (or the operator) can nudge motion, density, and “breath” in real time, keeping the vibe coherent while the scene evolves.

Design & Control

Like every other installation of mine, this one is built in TouchDesigner, the system maps core parameters to a model-airplane–style USB controller (dual sticks + switches) for expressive, tactile control. A secondary palette controller adjusts hue families, warmth, and brightness to match the space or mood. Under the hood it blends procedural noise and slow modulation, with smoothed response curves so every move feels things feel ambient and natural. Short-throw friendly; works on scrim, wall, or LED.
